Membership Terms & Conditions

This agreement provides the terms and conditions which govern the use of membership services on the Screened Music Network website (http://www.screenedmusic.co.uk/) hereafter referred to as the website.

By submitting the registration form on the website you are becoming a member of the Screened Music Network (hereafter referred to as SMN ) and agree to comply with the membership conditions set out below.

By registering as a member, you agree to use the website in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations and in accordance with the terms and conditions set out below.

  1. When using the services provided by the website you agree to provide accurate and current information about yourself as asked by the website registration form including all personal and professional details included in your profile.
  2. Screened Music Network reserves the right to amend or delete any information, photos, graphics, text, sound or other data that you submit (herein referred to as content) created by all members at its absolute discretion.
  3. Screened Music Network reserves the right to terminate membership and refuse all current or future use of the services if any information that is deemed inaccurate.
  4. Screened Music Network provides registered members with a package of features and services and may, at its discretion, add or delete features or services.
  5. Screened Music Network provides member profiles and the content therein is the responsibility of the posting member. All content must adhere to current Internet guidelines and laws.
  6. Screened Music Network will not be responsible for any content added by its members that may be deemed offensive, indecent or objectionable. Neither correspondence nor discussion concerning any content shall be entered into.
  7. Members of Screened Music Network (hereafter referred to as members) are not permitted to submit any copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright owner.
  8. Members are not permitted to submit any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party.
  9. Members are not permitted to add to their profile any URLs or links to World Wide Web pages.
  10. Members are not permitted to submit any content that contains viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software of hardware.
  11. Members agree that Screened Music Network is not liable for any conduct by members associated with the website and that the use of the website is entirely at the members own risk.
  12. Members agree they will not hold Screened Music Network or employees responsible for any claim or demand, including solicitors fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of the website , content or use of the service.
  13. Members agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the service, use of the service, or access to the service.
  14. Screened Music Network may run advertisements and promotions on the site. By registering with Screened Music Network you agree that Screened Music Network has the right to run such advertisements and promotions. Your correspondence or business dealings with, or participation in promotions of advertisements found on the service are solely between you and such advertiser.
  15. Members agree that Screened Music Network shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of any dealings advertisers or third parties as the result of the presence of such advertisers on the website.
  16. Screened Music Network does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from sites or resources that are linked from the website.
  17. Members may terminate their membership at any time.
  18. Members agree that the website and services provided by Screened Music Network and any necessary software developed in connection with the service contain proprietary and confidential information that is protected by applicable intellectual property and other laws.
  19. Screened Music Network does not play any part in correspondence entered into between members of Screened Music Network and is not responsible for monitoring any correspondence or agreements entered into by its members.
  20. Members may upgrade to a professional membership by paying the annual subscription of £36 and will thereafter be referred to as a Pro Member.
  21. Members who have not upgraded to a professional membership will not be permitted to use Screened Music Network website or related services to contact composers in the network, with the exception of attending SMN networking events. The member therefore agrees to upgrade to a professional membership before entering into any communication with composers found through Screened Music Network website.

Composer Application Terms and Conditions

This agreement provides the terms and conditions which govern the application to become a composing member of the Screened Music Network. By applying to become a composing member, you agree to use the Screened Music Network Composer Application Form in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations and in accordance with the terms and conditions set out below.

  1. The Screened Music Network (hereafter referred to as SMN) reserves the right to refuse any application for any reason at its absolute discretion.
  2. The applicant must be a resident of the United Kingdom.
  3. Members of composing partnerships or companies must join the network as individuals and provide examples of their own work only.
  4. The applicant must be the sole composer of the audition track.
  5. The applicant must have prior consent from all person(s) involved in the production, performance or involvement of any other capacity before submitting their audition track.
  6. The applicant must have permission from the copyright holder to broadcast the audition track on Screened Music Network website.
  7. Copyright of the audition track and any subsequent tracks uploaded will remain the property of the composer and / or the declared third party copyright holder.
  8. Audition tracks are shortlisted before they are submitted to the panel and Screened Music Network reserves the right to decide whether to submit the application to the panel for auditioning.
  9. The applicant may submit only one track in any given month and may not submit another track for a further 3 months from the previous track upload date.
  10. The audition track must be no longer than 5 minutes long and encoded as an MP3 with a maximum file size of 5Mb.
  11. The applicant will not be charged or invoiced for the application or panel review process.
  12. Screened Music Network reserves the right to edit the length or file format of the audition track prior to its publication on Screened Music Network website.
  13. The applicant must be over 18 years old.
  14. Entries are made at the applicants expense and Screened Music Network shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in making an application.
  15. Screened Music Network aims to inform all applicants within a week of the track upload date whether their application has been submitted to the panel, but cannot guarantee this due to the large number of applications received.
  16. The decisions of the panel are final. Neither correspondence nor discussion concerning any decision shall be entered into.
  17. An average panel rating of 80% or above is likely to result in a composer being accepted as a composing member of the Screened Music Network however Screened Music Network reserves the right to refuse composing membership for any reason at its absolute discretion.
  18. Annual composing membership of Screened Music Network carries an annual subscription fee of £80 for a standard membership and £120 for a premium membership. A student subscription is £50.
  19. Successful applicants may choose not to become a composing member and may postpone composing membership for a period of up to 3 months, after which time they must re-apply.
  20. Acceptance of these rules is a condition of application and the uploading of a track amounts to the acceptance of these rules.
  21. Screened Music Network shall not be responsible for any unfavourable ratings or reviews published on the SMN website and will not be obliged to edit or remove any comments made.
  22. Screened Music Network does not guarantee any enhancement of career or reputation through being a composing member.
