Biography
Max Wilson has worked as a professional composer since 1999. He recently arranged and scored the music for the short film musical I am Ruthie Segal, Hear Me Roar (2009, dir. Minkie Spiro), and has scored several theatre productions including Us Like Gods (2009, Hampstead Theatre); One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (2009, Zazu’s Theatre Company); Tory Boyz (2008, National Youth Theatre) and The Brothel Project (2007, Baraka Theatre Company). In addition to this, he has written for various music production libraries including Universal, Boosey & Hawkes, IPM, Big Screen Music and Focus. Credits include BBC1, BBC2, Sky TV, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, and Fox TV.
A trained classical composer, Max has had works performed at the South Bank Centre, London; the Huddersfield festival; the Institute of Contemporary Art, London; Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool; Blueberry Hills Cafe, Paris; De Doelen, Rotterdam; the Amsterdam Conservatory; the Universities of Cambridge, Glasgow and York; the Royal Academy of Music; the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and the Queens Hall, Edinburgh; with commercial releases and broadcasts in the UK and Holland.
Max is head of Music Technology at London College of Music (Junior department), and mentor on the MA music production course at Leeds College of Music.
