Anne Nikitin has written scores for a number of film and television productions in the UK and North America. Most recent programmes include the popular Banged Up Abroad series (aka Locked Up Abroad) for five/National Geographic Channel and the feature-length film Journey to the Edge of the Universe for Discovery, narrated by Alec Baldwin and described as the most ambitious space film to date. In 2006, she won the BBC New Talent, New TV Composers Scheme - the prize was a commission to score White Falcon, White Wolf, a BBC Natural World film, which won a Merit Award for Music at the Missoula Wildlife Film Festival 2008.

Born in Canada to a Romanian mother and Polish father, Anne was raised in various countries including Taiwan, South Africa and New Zealand, but spent her formative years at the British School in the Netherlands. She completed her Bachelor degrees in English Literature and Music at McGill University in Montreal before embarking on a Masters in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music in London, tutored by Dario Marianelli and Gabriel Yared. Her extensive traveling and exposure to various cultures generated an early interest in world instruments, rhythms and timbres, and as a result she enjoys combining world music influences with classical western ensembles.

Anne's recent work includes The Fugitive Chronicles series for A&E channel, various documentaries for Channel 4, and assisting George Fenton on Life, a new BBC Natural History series narrated by David Attenborough.
