Film / TV track Around the World in 80 Days by composer Joris de Man

Video

Context: An demo piece written to picture, from an excerpt of jackie chan / steve coogan's 'around the world in 80 days' remake, as part of the Ascap Film Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles. I was fortunate enough to be picked from several hundreds of entries to study film scoring among 14 other candidates and was tasked to compose, orchestrate and conduct this 3 minute excerpt and record it with a 40 piece LA session orchestra.

An absolutely virtuosic orchestration of such a tightly scored to picture track. Awesome work, Joris.

A spectacular piece of music...one of those cues that makes me realise how much I need to up my game! Highly recommended.

Great stuff! A superbly synchronised, musically inventive, excellently arranged orchestral scherzo which fits the bill perfectly (I loved the Lydian mode 'flying music' at the end). I'd give it three stars if I could. Congratulations on your Ivor, Joris, but you are far too good for video games!

Wow, thanks so much for the kind comments guys, and your wonderfully supportive words Rodney!
Means a lot to me coming from you, and though I'd love to do more TV and Film work, the games industry is not a bad place to be in at the moment:)
